Once I got into my room and tried to fall asleep, there was really loud talking coming from the lobby, which included the front desk clerk. I expected them to eventually quiet down, but it never happened. There was individuals walking and talking extremely loud from the time I arrived until 4:00 am. I go almost no sleep at all.
At one point, I was awaken from somewhat of a light sleep that I finally started to get from someone yelling from the lobby. Apparently another guest was upset from the noise as well. I heard him yelling at the front desk clerk with comments such as, "This is a f#$@ing crack house! There are crack heads hanging out in the lobby dealing drugs! This is ridiculous!" He was obviously upset as well but even after this incidence, the noise never quit.
I had booked a non- smoking room for two nights but the smell of the pillows and bedding were enough to make me gag all night long. I cancelled the second days reservation and got other accommodations for the next night. The little amount of sleep I got because of the smell of the bedding was minimal at best. The overweight gentleman at the desk was more interested in his telephone conversations than the customers wanting services. I had to wait for the gentleman to finish his cell phone call before I could tell him he had to refund me money for the second nights fees that were charged to my card.
It was by far, my worst experience I've ever had at any type of motel/hotel. I'm not saying that all Motel 6 are like this; however, this particular location definitely needs work and wouldn't recommend it to anyway. The cheap price wasn't worth the stay. I wouldn't stay there again even if it was free.
When I started to check in, another individual came from down the hallway and it was pretty obvious he was on drugs by his appearance and attitude. There were other individuals hanging out in the lobby that also appeared to be on drugs as well. It was a very uncomfortable experience, but once again, I made the bad decision to go through with the transaction and check into a room.
I was fortunate to get a room in Espanola for two nights. I appreciated the night manager and two women who cleaned for the Motel 6. They helped me with my luggage and were prompt to provide help as I needed it. I am handicapped and so is my sister who was traveling with me. The stay was OK. What made it better was the cleaning staff and the night manager. Rooms are in need of an upgrade. Everything is old and rapidly becoming seedy. However, our room was clean and we were able to sleep soundly.
First off, when I arrived, the front desk clerk was outside smoking and acting very frustrated that he had to cut his smoke break short to check me in. He not only acted very unprofessional, but looked unprofessional as well with half his shirt handing out and it looked like he had bathed in a week.
My stay was consistent with your ratings from past customers. It was really short of what I have experienced at other Motel 6 locations. The front desk was often unmanned for as long as 20 minutes. Towels were not replaced. Hallway from front desk is noisy in the early morning when staff gather.
Lowest priced accommodations in Espanola. Clean, professionally run. A little tricky to negotiate the entrance if you're headed south. There's a Sonic right next door. Act like you're pulling into there and veer to the right to motel driveway. And there's a Sonic next door. Fairly quiet. Fair warning: the internet is free but its Kung fu is weak.
I'm not the person to ever write reviews but I feel like this is deserving of one. I should have trusted my gut when I first arrived and just left; however, I figured I would give it a shot.
