Best kept secret outdoor taco stand! I can only vouch for this original location as it's all I come to visit. I have no desire to try the other Parasol locations in Santa Fe or Cities of Gold, etc. For years my family has made a stop on one of our trips to eat here mainly for the pollo w/guacamole tacos or bean and chicharron red chile burritos. Best authentic combination Mexican and New Mexican food! They really nicely updated the parking and sitting areas. Large adjacent parking lot and more tables under the trees to sit and eat with beautiful flower beds hanging on the fences. Service is fast for how busy they are and food is always fresh. Prices increased a little due to inflation I'm sure. LOL! And best ever they have a nice sized vegetarian menu. A must try is the Khalsa stuffed sopapilla special filled with beans, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, bell peppers, onions, jalapenos, cheese, guacamole and sour cream, and garnished with lettuce and tomato, (substitutions allowed)! Absolutely delicious! After eating you can continue to visit one of the nearby casinos or venture into Chimayo to the Santuario or travel on to Taos, Red River, Angel Fire or surrounding mountains!
My spouse was craving a Frito pie before we went to see a movie and we've had good experiences at the Los Alamos location so we stopped in. We waited over 30 minutes for a Frito pie. Litteraly dump some chili on some Fritos top with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. People who ordered burgers after us were served first. Terrible service. We should have asked for a refund.
Popular outdoor Taco stand, sister to the one in Santa Fe and just as good. Tacos are excellent and have that unique home-cooked flavor. Breakfast Burritos are huge and filled with delicious egg, potato, spicy beef, cheese and your choice of a fiery red or green chile sauce. There are people that take issue with the prices but they seem reasonable to me. You get what you pay for: great food made with quality ingredients, prepared with care.
Man these guys deal out some great beef tacos. Salsa near ulcer inducing levels of spicy but unresistable, I buy a pint every now and then to put on everything! Not a fan of there chicken but I see people order all the time so it might just be me. I've heard good things about there burgers as well. Be prepared to wait though because it gets crowded at times.
Good food but pricy and long wait
